New Delhi, July 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Imam Hussain on Saturday, praising his bravery and dedication to the principles of justice and human dignity.

Muslims around the world, particularly Shias, remember Hussain’s passing in the Battle of Karbala on this day. It is the tenth day of the Islamic month of Muharram, better known as “ashura.”

“We recall the sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). His courage and commitment to the ideals of justice and human dignity are noteworthy,” Modi said on Twitter.
