Ranchi, May 24: President Droupadi Murmu landed in Jharkhand for her three day visit according to her pre-schedule programme.
Her flight touched the Deoghar airport in the morning and the first lady of the country from there reached Baba Baijnath Temple with some of her family members to offer prayers amid tight security arrangements.
Earlier, Jharkhand governor CP Radhakrishnan, union minister of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal, state agriculture, animal Husbandry, cooperative department minister Badal Patralekh, Godda MP Nishikant Dubey, additional chief secretary Arun Kumar Singh besides other senior police officers and bureaucrats welcomed her.
From Deoghar she reached Birsa Munda Airport at 12 noon by a special Air Force aircraft. On the way to Raj Bhawan from the airport she garlanded the statue of Lord Birsa Munda.
As many as 3000 policemen were deployed in the Jharkhand capital to ensure proper security to her. Police personnel were keeping an eye on the streets from high buildings located beside both sides of the road connecting Birsa Munda Airport with Raj Bhawan.
At Raj Bhawan she will interact with Particular Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) from 4pm to 4.30pm. She will reach new high court premises at 4.50pm.
From 5pm to 6pm she will remain in the new high court building premises inaugurating and addressing the inaugural function. She will reach Raj Bhawan at 6.10pm.
Next morning, she will depart for Khunti and using a chopper she will land in the district to address a women conference organized by the ministry of tribal affairs. She will return to Raj Bhawan at 12.45pm. From Raj Bhawan she will start for IIIT at Namkum to address the second convocation by road and return after an hour.
On Friday, she will start at 10.45am for Rashtrapati Bhawan. At 11.10am she will take off by an Indian Airforce Flight for New Delhi to reach Rashrapati Bhawan at 1.25pm.
