The last Ardas of four farmers who died in the violence after the riots on October 3 in Lakhimpur Kheri is on Tuesday. For this, Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait reached Tikunia late on Monday evening, while Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also left from Lucknow on Tuesday morning. Farmer leaders have also warned that they will not allow politicians to share their platforms. A heavy police force has gathered since Monday night in anticipation of a confrontation.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the national general secretary of the All India Congress Committee, will also attend the last prayers of the farmers at Lakhimpur Kheri. Priyanka Gandhi’s convoy left for Tikuniya from LRP intersection in Lakhimpur. She is accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President Ajay Kumar Lallu and MP Deepender Hooda in the vehicle. Along with them, National Secretary Dheeraj Gurjar, Dr. Ravi Shankar Trivedi from Lakhimpur, State Secretary Gurmeet Singh Bhullar, Siddharth Trivedi, Sanjay Goswami and Rampal Shakya are also going to Tikuni. She also went to Bahraich along with Lakhimpur Kheri, to met the family members of the deceased farmers and held a Kisan Nyay rally in Varanasi on Sunday.
Farmers and leaders of various agricultural associations from different districts of Uttar Pradesh as well as other states of the country will participate in the Ardas and Bhog program at Tikunia. All will join the last Ardas and pay tribute to the farmers killed in the Kheri incident. BKU leader Rakesh Tikait himself is handling the arrangements for the program.
