Ramgarh, May 22: The three medical blocks at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Mandu have been renovated by the Civil Infrastructure team in consultation with the Public Health team of Tata Steel Foundation. A new waiting room for children and an attractive Malnutrition Treatment Center (MTC) ward were also constructed at the Community Health Centre as part of Tata Steel Foundation’s commitment to the communities, holistic wellness and enhanced healthcare facilities. The renovation plan is a part of Tata Steel Foundation’s larger goals to work with state governments to provide better facilities.
The inauguration ceremony of the medical block at Ramgarh took place today afternoon and was attended by top district officials and senior leadership of Tata Steel Foundation and West Bokaro Division of Tata Steel Limited. Mandu MLA Jai Prakash Bhai Patel, Madhavi Mishra, DC Ramgarh, Dr Prabhat Kumar, Civil Surgeon-cum-CMO, Ramgarh, Sudhir Prakash, BDO, Mandu, Jai Kumar Ram, CO, Mandu inaugurated the community centre in the presence of Dr Nitesh Kumar, MOIC, Mandu.
Anurag Dixit, General Manager, West Bokaro Division, Tata Steel, Satyanarayan Nandi, Head, Infrastructure, Tata Steel Foundation were also present on the occasion.
The Malnutrition Treatment Center (MTC) ward is specially designed for children affected by Severe Malnutrition (SAM). Madhavi Mishra, DC Ramgarh shared her views and said, “The Tata Steel Foundation’s infrastructure work has been excellent. I visited this medical block a few months back and it was in a dilapidated condition. Really appreciate the efforts of the civil engineers of Tata Steel Foundation, who have renovated the complex. A new waiting hall has been added in such a short span of time. This renovated complex will serve as a model for other community healthcare centres in the state of Jharkhand. In fact, we would like to nominate CHC Mandu for health care related awards in the state.”
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Sourav Roy, CEO, Tata Steel Foundation said, “Renovation of the Community Health Center in Mandu is an important milestone for Tata Steel Foundation. and furthers our commitment to positive public health outcomes by collaborating with the Government of Jharkhand in areas such as vector-borne diseases, cataract surgery, etc. We are grateful to the communities that they place their trust in us.
Dr Prabhat Kumar, Civil Surgeon cum CMO said, “I am thankful to all the civil engineers of Tata Steel Foundation and the support of the district administration, who have renovated the campus so well. I have personally monitored the place and the top of the roof was in disrepair. Civil engineers at Tata Steel Foundation have shown great expertise and commitment towards the betterment of healthcare. The Cataract Camp run by Tata Steel Foundation has been a huge success in the region and I thank them for their hard work, compassion and commitment towards public healthcare.”
