Ranchi, Jan.3: In the wake of the rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the Jharkhand capital, the civil surgeon of the district has deputed a two-member team to brief media persons everyday in the evening at 5pm regarding different aspects of Covid-19.

The team includes the medical officer of Sadar Hospital, Dr Ajit Kumar and regional co-ordinator (IEC), Sweta Verma.

A notification to this effect was issued today. This is for the first time such a step has been taken to avoid any confusion taking Covid-19 among people and create a sense of confidence among people suffering from the disease.

“The team apart from briefing will also play its role in creating awareness among people and ensuring proper coordination with media persons who play a vital role in bridging the communication gap between administration and common people,” a Sadar Hospital insider said.
