Ranchi, Dec.21: A civil engineer working for JUIDCO’s Kanta Toli flyover construction project died after a crane fell on him on Wednesday. The incident took place at 9:45 AM at the plant behind Namkum police station where various components of the flyover are being prepared.
The engineer was identified as Chudamani Kumar (30), a native of Bharno in Gumla district having a temporary location in Bariatu.
Moreover, a worker from West Bengal also sustained injuries in the incident. He was admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) from where he was taken to a private hospital for better treatment.
SP (rural) Naushad Alam confirmed the incident saying that the accident took place after the crane returning from the weighbridge taking a bundle of steel bundle became imbalanced in the muddy area.
