Ranchi, July 15: A three-year-old boy whose internal part of the brain had come out after he fell from the third floor of his apartment in Jharkhand capital on Sunday recovered after five days of treatment.
The success came from Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Superspecialty Hospital, a private hospital in the Jharkhand capital.
The boy’s father Kabir Das, a service technician of Solis Tractor Company having his native village in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, confirmed the achievement saying it was like the rebirth of his son.
“My only son Mehul Raj was playing close to three feet high grill on the balcony of my rented house in Sainik Colony on Booty More on Sunday morning. Somehow he climbed on it and fell down. As we went downstairs we noticed him senseless with a portion of his brain out from the skull. A gentleman took quick action. He took me and my son in his car within 10 minutes and reached Medica. We had lost all hope but doctors there tried their best. In the evening they operated on my son’s brain and the next morning he called me Papa and talked as the way he used to talk to me. It was like a rebirth,” Das, who was at the hospital with his wife Ruma Kumari, said.
Neurosurgeon Dr Amit Kumar, who had operated upon the boy’s brain echoed Das saying the boy will be released tomorrow.
“When the parents had come to the hospital they were crying. When the boy regained his senses his mother thanked me saying ‘Aaj dubara goad Bhar Gayi’. Her words gave me eternal happiness,” the doctor said.
The doctor while confirming the success warned parents to save their children from fall.
“The boy was fortunate but it is not necessary that everyone has the same fortune. Thus parents should take proper care of their child and ensure that they do not play close to the balcony with a lower grill or boundary,” the doctor said.
