Ranchi, Aug 28: Arjun Munda, Minister of Tribal Affairs, Government of India on Sunday inaugurated a five-day Multimedia Photo exhibition at the premises of Ranchi University to mark the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
While addressing the students and other guests present, Munda said, “All of India has been celebrating Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav for some time now. However, this exhibition showcases the sacrifices, movements and the paths that the freedom fighters showed Indians.”
“India has a vivid history and now is making a name for itself in the world on the basis of its traditions. India has now displayed to the world that we are the world’s largest democracy and welcome everyone with the message of ‘Vasudaiv Kutumbakam’ (The whole world is a family). The Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the idea of the world being one, and being affected as one when the world was talking of climate change and global warming,” added Munda.
He further said that the present time demands that Indians pledge to better the future of the nation. He said people need to think over the world done by them for the nation. The exhibition showcases the several leaders that gave all their life for the nation, which should inspire all to do more for the nation, the minister further added.
Vice Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha while talking of his plans for the five day exhibition said, “We plan to allot and schedule time for students of the university to visit the gallery for 50 minutes – one hour during classes to promote introduction to the history of the nation’s Independence. We also want the students to understand the sacrifices made by the named and unnamed leaders who gave their lives for the freedom of India.”
Furthermore, while explaining its relation with NEP 2020, the VC said, “As per NEP 2020, it will be mandatory for students of all streams to add another subject to their syllabi. This subject will teach them all about the history of India, its freedom struggle and its rise after Independence.”
Notably, the subject, ‘Know Your India’ will be compulsory for all students despite different streams.
On the other hand, information was also given out about a digital learning experience through online mobile games that has been developed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in association with Zynga India.
Azadi Quest Online is an entertaining and educative series of mobile games that aims to provide a platform to the players to learn more about the journey of India’s independence and the valor of Indian freedom fighters through fun gameplay. During the exhibition, stalls related to Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) were set up by the Department of AYUSH, Ranchi.
MP Sanjay Seth, MLA C P Singh, Vice Chancellor Ajit Kumar Sinha, Padmashree Madhu Mansoor, Additional Director General, PIB-CBC Ranchi Akhil Kumar Mishra, several students on government schools along with their teachers were present on the occasion.
