Ranchi, April 13: The RIMS governing body today approved a proposal of having an engineering cell for low-budget civil works and also due weightage to regular teachers of RIMS for appointment on the post of associate professor and professor through open advertisement.
RIMS Director Dr Kameshwar Prasad informed this to the media after the governing body meeting ended.
“For small civil works, the RIMS cannot wait for a long time and it was decided that there will be many assistant engineers under an executive engineer to undertake small civil works and their payment will be done through internal sources of RIMS,” Dr Prasad said.
Informing about the teachers’ appointment, he said: “Assessment-based promotion will continue. Apart from this, those RIMS teachers who want to come through open advertisement will be given due preference in selection.”
Health minister Banna Gupta supported Dr Prasad saying other major decisions in the meeting included more financial power to the RIMS director, steps to provide more treatment under Ayushman Bharat Scheme at RIMS besides others including some amendments in rules.
“Unless the involvement of the budget is not big, the RIMS GB can take decisions in financial matters also and it will not have to go to personnel and finance departments,” minister Gupta said.
On the practice of making head by rotation at different departments of RIMS and high court direction against it, minister Gupta said that he will react on the matter only by going through the order.
On the allegation of giving one month’s salary as corona incentive to his close staff, minister Gupta parried reply saying it has yet to come into his knowledge.
Probed further, he suggested talking to the PR section. When contacted, PR section head, Dr Dipendra Kumar Sinha around 7.15pm expressed his ignorance saying information regarding decisions taken in the GB meeting are yet to come to them for circulation in the media.
As the governing body meeting was going on RIMS teachers staged a demonstration against the open advertisement for the appointment of assistant professors and professors saying such posts are supposed to be filled by promotion.
