Ranchi, Jan 5: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) is going to start a campaign to remove the advertisement boards on government property on the roadsides. An FIR will be registered against the persons concerned with the advertisements and fined. Municipal Commissioner of Ranchi Municipal Corporation Mukesh Kumar has prepared the blueprint for the campaign that will start within a week.
Kumar has said that many people like doctors, tutors, hotel owners, restaurant owners, dhaba operators, property dealers, apartment sellers set up advertisement boards with their or their company names on roadside electric poles and other government properties. They even paint arrow marks on government properties to help people to their institutions.
Kumar added that this action spoils the beauty of the city. He has cautioned the people that such advertisement boards should be removed immediately. Kumar further said that the Municipal Corporation gives permission to put up hoardings, but in any case, such boards are not allowed.
Kumar said that action will be taken against those who do not remove the board. Notably, Ranchi Municipal Corporation has already started such a campaign and has collected fines from similar people. Despite this, people are not ready to accept the fact and continue putting up advertising boards.
With this campaign, on the one hand, the revenue of Ranchi Municipal Corporation will increase, while, the random advertisement boards on the roadsides will also be removed. It is noteworthy that such haphazardly fitted advertisements often cause accidents. In fact, illegal hoardings are also a similar problem in the city, which will also soon be taken down.
The Municipal commissioner has also directed the enforcement team to run an anti-encroachment drive on the Main road. There is maximum encroachment of shopkeepers on the Main road. Pavement shopkeepers set up shops on roads making roads narrower for vehicles causing heavy traffic. The Municipal Corporation removes the encroachers by running campaigns on a day-to-day basis. But, as soon as the campaign was over, the encroachers again set up shops on roads.
