Jamshedpur, Sept 14: He saved a woman passenger from coming under the wheels of a moving train. His exemplary work got recognition on Tuesday.
At a function held at Garden Reach, the South Eastern Railway headquarters in Kolkata, Archana Joshi, general manager, South Eastern Railway felicitated Mrinal Kanti Ghosh, a constable of Railway Protection Force ( RPF) for his exemplary effort to save a woman passenger from fatal accident.
On August 12, when 08635 Ranchi–Sasaram Special was about to depart Ranchi railway station, a woman passenger tried to board the running train.
Incidentally, she could not grip the gate-handle and tripped. She was dragged on the platform by the running train.
On noticing this, Mrinal Kanti Ghosh, of RPF Post, Ranchi who was on duty rushed to the spot and rescued the lady passenger.
Later, the guard stopped the train and the lady could board the train safely.
