Jamshedpur, Oct 22: Nathu Singh Meena on Friday took charge as SP (Rural) of East Singhbhum district from Subhash Chandra Jat at the latter’s office in Bistupur.
Meena was earlier posted as sub-divisional police officer at Chakeadharpur in West Singhbhum district.
Jat who is superintendent of police (City) in Jamshedpur was holding additional charge as SP (Rural) since June 14, 2020.
After being relieved of the additional charge, Jat will now be able to devote his time and energy to look after the law and order situation exclusively of Jamshedpur.
“Though I was given the charge as SP (Rural) since June 14, 2020 officially, I had been working the additional post since April 2020. As a result of the dual charges, I was not able to give full time for looking after the policing in the city, ” said the City SP.
He said besides looking after a city like Jamshedpur, he used to devote much time sorting out problems in the rural areas of the district and used to visit the Ghatsila sub-divisional on a regular basis.
Significantly, after taking his charge, the new Rural SP said he would render his service with equal vigour like he had done as SDPO, Chakradharpur.
“My new assignment as the SP (Rural) of East Singhbhum district is encouraging. I will take the new responsibility as a challenge, ” said Meena while talking to the media.
