Ranchi, Nov 20: Renowned politician, writer and former international diplomat Shashi Tharoor has hinted to engage in talks about the CAA and NRC again which was stopped due to Covid interruption in the country. This hint came while he was addressing an interactive session of ‘All India Professional’s Congress’ with 100 professionals at the JSCA stadium, Ranchi.
Tharoor interacted with professionals and said that AIPC offers professionals to enter into politics without leaving their job and provide their expertise to the leaders engaged in politics.
“11 centres of AIPC have been established in the states which are working really well and during the covid, the doctors associated with the AIPC established a helpline number for the public,” Tharoor said.
Talking about witchcraft in the state, Tharoor expressed his grief saying that it is quite disappointing that in today’s world people believe in such superstitions and because of which several people have been murdered.
“Strict actions must be taken against those who are involved in witchcraft and the government should also look into the concern,” Tharoor said.
On the occasion, Rural Development Minister, Alamgir Alam, pointed at the fault of the Government of India for not withdrawing the controversial farm laws on time which would have saved the lives of 750-800 farmers of the country.
“India is a democratic country. The government before bringing any law for the betterment of the people must consult the state government as well as the public,” Alam said.
Shashi Tharoor was on a three-day visit to Jharkhand where he inaugurated the Rai Saheb Laxminarayan Library and Skill Development Center of Jharkhand Pradesh Professional Congress Committee in Murhu on Friday. A day before the AIPC programme, Tharoor also enjoyed the match between India and New Zealand at the same venue.
