Patna, Jan 18: The RJD has slapped a notice on MLA Sudhakar Singh after his objectionable remarks on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Reportedly, the remarks and the controversies around it have created embarrassment to the party.
RJD principal secretary general Abdul Bari Siddiqui said Singh was given 15 days to reply to the notice, based on which the further course of action will be decided.
“I sent the notice yesterday after instructions from party president Lalu Prasad. The MLA has been asked to show cause why action will not be taken for defying the party directive that only the RJD national president and our Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav are authorized to make any statement about our alliance partners,” Siddiqui told reporters.
Singh had made a statement that Nitish Kumar who has done nothing great for the state to immediately step down and offer the CM’s post to Tejashwi Yadav.
“He (Kumar) will not be remembered at all. He is like ‘Shikhandi’, who has no standing of his own,” the RJD MLA had said earlier.
Sudhakar Singh, a first-term MLA from the Ramgarh assembly segment, is the son of state RJD president Jagadanand Singh, a loyalist of Prasad and Yadav.
“Making such comments against the person who is leading the Grand Alliance government in Bihar is simply supporting the BJP and its policies. Whatever he has said about the CM is highly objectionable,” Yadav told reporters.
When asked whether the party will take disciplinary action against Singh, he said, “The matter is serious. That is why it has been brought to the notice of the party supremo.”
Earlier, Sudhakar Singh had to step down as the state agriculture minister after his outbursts against corruption in the department landed the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government in embarrassment.
