Ranchi: Several IAS officers from the Jharkhand cadre are preparing to move on Central Deputation, with three officers—R Ronita, Akanksha Ranjan, and Mukesh Kumar—having formally submitted their applications. The state currently has 170 IAS officers in position against 224 sanctioned posts, leaving 54 vacancies unfilled.

Growing Interest in Deputation and Training

Besides deputation, some officers are registering for Mid-Career Training Programs. Officers such as Sandeep Singh, Ravi Shankar Shukla, and Shashi Ranjan, along with others from the 2017 batch, are eligible to register subject to central government approval. Final permissions will be determined by the state government.

14 Officers Already on Central Deputation

Currently, 14 IAS officers from the Jharkhand cadre are serving on central deputation. Among them are three at the Chief Secretary rank—Shailesh Kumar Singh, Nidhi Khare, and Satendra Singh. At the Principal Secretary level, Sunil Barnwal, Rahul Sharma, K.K. Sona, Himani Pandey, and Aradhana Patnaik are deputed. Muthu Kumar and Harsh Mangla serve at the Secretary level, while Rai Mahimapratap Ray, Shantanu Agrahari, Bhuvanesh Pratap Singh, and Divyanshu Jha are also on central assignments.
