Ramgarh, Aug 20: Two people lost their lives after a car, bike and a scooty were washed away after flood waters came up to the Nalkari bridge at Bhuyan Tola of Talatand in Patratu of Ramgarh district this morning due to heavy rains. Half a dozen people are feared missing in the incident.
As soon as the information was received, several senior officials also rushed to the spot and Ramgarh police began the relief work in which the bodies of two people were found.
The deceased have been identified as Dr. Devashish Robinson Tigga and Dr. Smriti Gaadi. Both were about to get married soon. According to information, they had gone to visit the Patratu dam when they got washed away in the water due to strong curents.
Local divers, with the help of villagers, after hours of effort amid the rain, the villagers fished out the bodies of a woman and a man from the water. They also somehow pulled out the Alto car which was completely submerged in the water while the whereabouts of the bike have not been found yet.
Police and administration are still searching for any other person who might have drowned in the incident.
