Ramgarh, Mar 11: A young girl (19) was gang-raped and murdered late evening on March 10 at Kocha Tola located in Sargadih village of Barlanga police station area of Gola block under Ramgarh district.
The body was hanged with the help of her dupatta. After locking the room from outside, the rapist fled away. They are still absconding.
Villagers and relatives broke the lock late in the evening and took the girl down. They rushed the girl to a nursing home in Muri for treatment where the doctor declared her brought dead.
On receiving the information, the police reached there late in the night and inquired about the incident. The accused youth and his friend have fled from the house.
Barlanga police station in-charge Amit Kumar said that prima facie the matter of rape and murder of the girl is coming to the fore. The police are investigating the case. Raids have been conducted in the house of the accused youth. They are absconding from home. The case will be cleared after the post-mortem of the dead body. Santosh Mahato, the youth who runs the tent house has been accused of raping and killing her.
The girl had gone outside her house on Thursday evening to get water from the hand pump. Meanwhile, Santosh Kumar Mahato, a neighbourhood youth who ran the tent house, forcibly dragged her and took her to the godown of his tent house located nearby. After this, he raped her with his friend and strangulated her to death. Later, they hanged her in the godown of the tent house with her dupatta.
On Friday morning, Barlanga police, while investigating the incident, sealed the godown of the tent house to collect the evidence of the rape and murder incident. Videography of the entire incident was also done.
