Dhanbad Nov 7: An under trial murder accused prisoner escaped from the hospital of Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College (SNMMCH) after breaking washroom window on Saturday night, a police official said.
Saraidhela police station officer in-charge, Kishore Tirkey under which the medical college area falls, said that on Saturday afternoon, owing to blood vomiting the under trial prisoner named Bittu Turi was admitted in the hospital. Three police constables of the police line had been deployed for his guarding in the hospital. At 7 pm he went to the washroom where he broke the window rod and escaped. Interestingly, one constable was guarding him at the gate.
The police personnel deployed in the security of Bittu Turi searched for him in hospital and the entire college campus. Later at night they informed Saraidhela police station and senior police officers about the incident.
“Besides murder of a DAV School student, Bittu Turi, a resident of Bhowra area of Baghmara block ,is also accused of a theft case,” informed the Police official.
Getting information of the incident, Major Sergeant Arun Kishan reached the spot and began the investigation.
“We have lodged an FIR in Saraidhela police station about Bittu Turi. Complaints against three constables who were deployed for his guarding would be also lodged to senior superintendent of police (SSP) for careless duty”, said Major Sergeant Arun Kishan.
After lodging the FIR police have started a search operation for Bittu Turi, informed Saraidhela police station officer in-charge Kishore Tirkey.
