Ranchi, April 11: Veteran leader and former Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha Kariya Munda has been admitted to the Bhagwan Mahavir MEDICA super speciality hospital, Ranchi on Monday after his continuous complaint of fever and breathing issues for the past 3 days.
MP Arjun Munda also reached the hospital premises today to take the whereabouts of Kariya Munda who has presently been kept under a continuous supply of oxygen.
According to Director Critical Care and Medical Director Dr Vijay Kumar Mishra, Kariya Munda was brought to the hospital in the afternoon after the continuous complaint of fever for the past 3 days and difficulty in breathing for the past 2 days.
Dr Vijay said that his oxygen saturation was low and upon doing CT scan, signs of pneumonia have been noticed for which the treatment has been started.
“Samples have also been sent for the Covid test and other pneumonia related tests. At present, his situation is stable and he has been kept under the continuous supply of oxygen,” Dr Vijay added.
Kariya Munda (born 20th April 1936) is an Indian politician and the former Deputy Speaker of the 15th Lok Sabha. He has been a former minister in the Government of India, in the Governments led by the Janata Party in 1977 and by Bhartiya Janata Party, from 1999 onwards.
