Shimla, August 26: Ladies would be able to travel for free in government buses on the occasions of Raksha Bandhan and Bhaiya Dooj, according to a statement released by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation on Saturday.
Rakshabandhan takes place on August 30 and Bhaiya Dooj is on November 15 in 2023.
Both the Bhaiya Dooj and Raksha Bandhan celebrations celebrate the relationship between a brother and his sister. The festivities serve as a symbol of their enduring relationship.
The HRTC decided to give women free bus trips in consideration of the festival’s significance.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Haryana Roadways had previously promised free bus trips for ladies.
