Ramgarh, July 6: A young girl from the Kuju OP area has accused a young man named Uttam Kumar Mahto, a resident of Sokla village of the Barlanga Police Station area of sexually abusing her on the pretext of marriage.

Earlier, she had asked the young man to marry her but when he denied it, the woman gave a written application on Wednesday to the Ramgarh SP demanding legal action against the youth. It has been said in the application that Uttam sexually abused the woman for the last five years on the pretext of marriage while keeping her in a rented house in Ramgarh. And, he continued to have physical relations with her like his wife by keeping her at his house in Sokla.

Apart from the family members of the young man, the people of the village also know about his misdeeds. The girl said that she last had a relationship with him in April 2023 after which, he started keeping his distance from her. “When I started pressuring him for marriage, he refused.  When I went to Barlanga police station regarding this matter, the police here refused to take the application and I was sent to Kuju OP,” she said.

“Upon coming to know about this, the young man started abusing me and threatened to kill me. After this, I also applied for legal action in Kuju OP. But till now no action has been taken,” she said.

The victim said that a complaint has also been made in this regard at the women’s police station, Ramgarh. But the woman station in charge also did not take any action, because of which the girl is stumbling door to door for justice.
