Dumka, Nov.16: A 22 years old boy was brutally beaten up by the relatives of a minor girl whom he was allegedly having love affair with for the last couple of years. He succumbed to his injuries late last night at the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital (PJMCH).
The deceased, Vivek Kumar Sah, according to the police belonged to Harnakundi village under Muffassil police station of the district. He was severely beaten up by the relatives of the minor girl aging 14-15 at latter’s village Saris under same police station on Monday evening resulting in his death at the PJMCH where he was rushed by his parents.
Om Prakash Sah, the father of the deceased boy has alleged that his son was also forced to consume poison before been beaten up black and blue. Video footage of the incident has also gone viral in social media platforms.
The relatives of the deceased boy resorted to vandalism at the PJMCH being anguished over the alleged negligence of the doctors attending him and police respectively for not referring him for improved treatment and not taking prompt response to free him from the clutches of the offenders despite been so informed.
“Had the police swung into action promptly my son would have survived,” the wailing father of the deceased boy who worked in a local Tanishq showroom, rued.
Deputy SP Noor Mustafa said that the deceased had furnished a bond at the Muffassil police station few days ago when the parents of the minor girl had registered a complaint against him for teasing her.
“It is being ascertained whether the deceased boy was called by the girl’s relatives on Monday evening as being claimed by his parents or for that matter whether he was forced to consume poison,” the Dy SP said adding that the postmortem report was awaited.
Meanwhile two persons including the father and the uncle of the girl have been arrested.
