Ranchi, May 3: Three people including a five-year-old girl were killed in Jharkhand in two separate incidents of crimes.
A five-year-old girl was murdered in Gumla. The incident took place when the girl was on her way to Anganwadi at Bambiyari village under Basia police station area. The reasons for the murder could not be ascertained.
The police arrested the accused killer Ravi and started questioning him. The incident came to the fore when the girl raised an alarm. Villagers took the girl to a nearby hospital but she succumbed to her injury made by a sharp-edged weapon on her neck.
In another incident of murder, an old couple was beaten to death with sticks and rods on the allegation of witchcraft. The incident took place at Chandwa in Latehar district. Police have detained two dozen people in connection and started questioning them.
