Ramgarh: A delegation of food businessmen led by the Regional Vice President of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Amit Sahu, met the top leadership of Congress to protest against agricultural tax at Gymkhana Club in Ramgarh and strongly opposed the agricultural tax imposed in the state.
The leader of the delegation, Amit Sahu told that today the gazette of agriculture tax which came into force on February 10, was published through various newspapers.
It was mentioned in various newspapers today due to the ulterior motives of some officials. Due to this, the food businessmen of the entire state got angry. After this, under the leadership of the regional vice-president of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Amit Sahu, met the top leaders of Congress and expressed strong protest.
They also handed over a memorandum in the name of Congress state in-charge Avinash Pandey. Talking to the Agriculture Minister on the occasion, Sahu apprised Minister Badal Patralekh about the present situation of the state.
The Agriculture Minister assured the businessmen that the government will take any step only after consulting the top officials of the chamber before framing any law. That’s why all you businessmen should be relaxed and trust us. The cabinet minister Banna Gupta said that the state government will not work to impose any such tax or law on businessmen. And in any case, this agricultural tax will not be applicable in the state. Due to this, the general public has to face any problem.
Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Rajesh Thakur said that this government has always stood with the businessmen and will continue to stand, any law which is not fair to the businessmen will not be implemented. Ramgarh Chamber President Pankaj Prasad Tiwari, former president Baljit Singh Bedi, Pradeep Kumar Berlia, Janaki Mahato, Amar Gupta, and many other businessmen were present on this occasion.
