Ranchi, March 21: Lord Ram remained a matter of discussion in the Jharkhand assembly where MLAs of the opposition and ruling party both claimed themselves to be the real followers of Lord Ram.
Hazaribagh’s BJP MLAs created a ruckus outside and inside the Assembly for not allowing DJ in the Ram Navami procession. During the proceedings of the House, he became so agitated that he tore his kurta standing in front of the speaker in the well.
Jaiswal during question hour said that MLAs were repeatedly raising the issue of Ram Navami and informing the house that the administration in Hazaribagh had registered FIRs under section 107 of the CrPC against 5 thousand people in Hazaribagh, DJ operators are being threatened with dire consequences in case of playing the sound system during procession but the government has not taken note of the information.
The BJP MLA went on saying that it seems that being a Hindu in Jharkhand is a crime. “Do we live with the Taliban? The minister should get up and say that if we live in the Taliban, then we will live as the government will keep us. The FIR filed against the innocent should be withdrawn. He said that the Supreme Court has ordered that the DJ can play, then why is the administration deliberately stopping it,” he yelled.
When there was no response from the government, the MLA protested by tearing his ‘kurta’ in the House. During this, BJP MLAs kept raising slogans of Jai Shri Ram and Jai Hanuman in the House.
Even after lunch, there was an argument between the ruling parties and the opposition in the name of Ram and the Taliban in the assembly. BJP MLAs created a ruckus taking restrictions on the Ram Navmi procession in Hazaribagh, Palamu and Chatra.
“Whether we are living under Taliban rule? After Hazaribagh, now there has been a ban on the playing of drums and tasha in Palamu as well. We Hindus will not tolerate this,” Bhanu said.
On this, Pradeep Yadav said ruling party legislators are also devotees of Ram, but BJP people create riots in the name of Ram. He alleged BJP legislators of playing gimmicks in the name of Ram.
While speaking on the proposal to cut the budget of the Labor Department, MLA Manish Jaiswal again raised the issue saying there is a 104-year-old tradition of Ramnavmi in Hazaribagh but at the behest of the government, the district administration issued a Taliban decree and banned the mobile DJ. As he said this, uproar started in the house over the repeated use of the word Taliban.
Congress MLA Irfan Ansari took strong exception to Manish’s words. Another congress MLA, Deepika Pandey Singh, said that Muslims are being insulted in the house by calling them Taliban. After this Irfan Ansari and Umashankar Akela reached the well. During this, BJP MLAs shouted ‘Bangladeshi-Bangladeshi’.
Amid the ruckus, Jaiswal’s speech was going on. He said that there is a rule of law in UP and riots are happening in Jharkhand. NCRB reports that there have been 371 riots in the country in 2021, out of which 100 riots have happened only in Jharkhand.
After this the Congress MLAs again started a ruckus. Deepika Pandey Singh reached into the well. She claimed to be Hindu. She brought into the notice of the house that a BJP MP has called her ‘Nagar Vadhu’. She said though the BJP legislator talks about Ram and Sita, their MP insulted her.
“I am mother, sister, they don’t want Goddess and God. They want a city bride. They are not Hindus, they act in the name of Hindus,” she blamed.
Minister Mithilesh Thakur said that the BJP is provoking the sentiments of the people. The people sitting on dharna in Hazaribagh are BJP workers, he said.
The minister said that no one has stopped the procession in Hazaribagh. “There is no restriction on playing DJ and sound. There is a directive to comply with the orders of the Supreme Court and the High Court regarding the time limit and level of the voice of the DJ. We respect all religions including Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian. We have Ram in our mouths as well as Ram in our hearts. We are real devotees of Ram,” Thakur claimed.
