Ranchi, May 24: President of India Droupadi Murmu today inaugurated and dedicated a new high court building at Dhurva amid presence of Jharkhand governor C.P Radhakrishnan, Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, Supreme Court Judge Justice Aniruddha Bose, union law and justice minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and Tripura High Court chief justice Aparesh Kumar Singh and Jharkhand Chief Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra.
Spread in 165 acres, the new building completed at a cost of about Rs 600 crores in eight years and it is about three times the size of the Supreme Court. Around 2000 plants of different species have been planted in the campus. This is the biggest High Court building and a big campus in the country so far.
Special attention has been paid to maintenance and security arrangements in the new building. 500 CCTV cameras have been installed under the supervision of the new High Court. Apart from this, high mast lights, and a hi-tech control room have also been built, from where monitoring and maintenance monitoring of the entire building will be done. Separate barracks have also been made for the policemen deployed for the security of the court. There separate buildings for the cafeteria and dispensary have been constructed.
The office of the High Court will be on the first floor of the court block, along with the court of the Chief Justice, court numbers 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 will also function from this building. Conference room for judges, office of subordinate staff of judges, kitchen, dining room, office of Chief Justice’s PA, waiting area and video conferencing arrangements are also in this building. Court numbers 15, 17, 19, 21, 23 and 25 will be operated from the second floor of the building and there is also a library on this floor.
On the other side of the court building, on the first floor, the office of the court, court number 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 will also be operated on the first floor. Court number 14, 16, 18, 20, 22 will be on the second floor. And 24 will be operated. As soon as you enter the new building of the High Court, you will see the picture of traditional dance art of Jharkhand. Along with this, pictures of important moments related to the life of Mahatma Gandhi have been decorated inside the building. At the same time, the biography of Bhim Rao Ambedkar has also been shown through photographs.
The floor level of the building was raised by 1.2 meters
The floor level in the new building has also been increased by 1.2 metres. For this reason, the drawing of the building was also changed. To protect the building from lightning, six lightning conductors have been installed at a distance of 32-32 meters. Better arrangements have been made for rain water harvesting, so that rain water does not go out of the campus.
There is a parking facility for 2000 vehicles on the campus.
Parking arrangements have been made for 2000 vehicles of lawyers and clients in the campus. On the other hand, a separate parking arrangement has been made for the vehicles of judges with membrane roof canopy.
Two blocks for advocates, 576 chambers, 1000 advocates will sit in the hall
Adequate seating arrangements have been made for all the advocates including senior advocates of the High Court. For this, two blocks have been made right and left in front of the court building. In both the blocks, 288-288 chambers i.e. a total of 576 advocates’ chambers have been set up. In the ground floor of both the blocks, 76 chambers of nine feet by 12 feet (separately attached kitchen and toilet) have been made for senior advocates. A chamber of 11 feet by 12 feet has been made for other advocates. For the sitting of the advocates, a big hall has been made in both the blocks, in which there will be complete seating arrangements for 2000 advocates including table-chairs. 1000 advocates will sit in one hall. Finishing work of the chamber room and hall has been done. The work of installing tables and chairs is going on. Fire fighting system has also been installed to prevent fire.
Solar panels installed
The works of electrical wiring, fire fighting, water connection etc. have been completed in the interior of the building. Solar panel has also been installed. This will generate two megawatts of electricity. At the same time, a separate substation has been built for power supply.
There are also two typist buildings with dispensary, barracks
Along with a dispensary, barrack and utility building, two typist buildings have also been constructed inside the campus.
Seating arrangements for 800 typists have been made in the typist building.
Library for judges, 5 lakh law books
There is a separate library for the judges in the new building. Modern arrangements have been made to keep about five lakh books related to law. Sofas and tables have been placed at different places.
Ceremonial ramp is built at the main gate of the campus
A ceremonial ramp has been built in front of the main gate of the campus. From where one can directly enter the main building of the High Court. But this ramp will be opened only on special occasions. Fountains have been made on both sides next to the ramp.
Substation is built for power supply

Advocate General Office is also ready
Finishing work has been completed in the Advocate General (AG) office in the new building. It is being finalized. This office is built in association with Advocates Block.
