Ranchi, March 10: Additional director of agriculture, animal husbandry and co-operative department Anjani Kumar put Palamu district fisheries officer Birendra Kumar Sinha under suspension.
The action was taken following the direction of the governor’s office on March 9.
The reason behind the suspension is a viral video in which Sinha was seen accepting bribes from the beneficiaries in lieu of their payment under government schemes.
During the suspension period, Sinha was directed to remain at the fishery directorate in the state capital.
