Dhanbad rail division cancels passenger train, diverts express train route

Dhanbad, Apr 1: East Central Rail (ECR)  has suspended the movement of the Bhojudih – Chandrapura passenger train and diverted the route of the Dhanbad- Alappuzha Express under the Dhanbad rail division on April 2.

A senior officer of  ECR  said that following the demolition of the old concrete bridge and construction of new in its place between Jamuniatand- Chandrapura railway stations of Dhanbad and Chandrapura rail Section of Dhanbad rail division traffic movement has been blocked.

Due to traffic blockade, 08665 up and 08666  down Bhojudih –Chandrapura- Bhojudih passenger trains have been cancelled tomorrow.  Besides it, 13351 up Dhanbad- Alappuzha  Express train would run via the Dhanbad-Nesubogomoh-Chandrapura route rather than Dhanbad-Katras-Chandrapura.

The division rail officer said that in the 2021-22 financial year Dhanbad rail division has set a new record by earning revenue of Rs 19522.89 crores from freight charges. This is 30.17% more earnings in comparison to the 2020-21 financial year.
