SE Railways declares extension of Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express up to Odisha’s Kantabanji

Jamshedpur,  April 12: The South Eastern Railway today notified extension of 12871/12872 Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express up to Kantabanji ( in Odisha) for four days a week.

The train travels via Tatanagar and several other railway stations of the Chakradharpur railway division.

The 12871 Up Howrah-Titlagarh Ispat Express will be extended to run up to Kantabanji w.e.f. April 14 on every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. It will depart from Howrah at 6.35 am and will reach Kantabanji at 8.35 pm, on the same day.

The 12872 Down Ispat Express will originate from Kantabanji instead of Titlagarh w.e.f April 15  on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. It will depart from Kantabanji at 4.15 am and will reach Howrah at 6.15 pm, on the same day.

There will be no change in timings and stoppages of 12871/12872 Ispat Express between Howrah and Titlagarh.

The 12871 Up Ispat Express from Howrah every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday will be short terminated at Titlagarh from  April 16 to August 13.

The 12872 Down Ispat Express will short originate from Titlagarh every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from April 17 to August 14.

However, w.e.f. August 8, Up 12871 Howrah-Titlagarh-Kantabanji Ispat Express from Howrah (four days a week on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) will be renumbered as 22861.

From August 17, Down 12872 Kantabanji-Titlagarh-Howrah Ispat Express from Kantabanji (four days a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) will be renumbered as 22862.

The 12871 Howrah-Titlagarh Express will be a Tri-Weekly Express instead of Daily w.e.f August 15 leaving Howrah on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

In the return direction, 12872 Titlagarh-Howrah Express will be a Tri-Weekly Express instead of Daily leaving Titlagarh on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday w.e.f August 16.
