Ranchi, May 4: The Jharkhand High Court today asked veterinary doctors to knock on the door of the State Election Commission for exemption from election duty and directed the commission to take a decision in accordance with the circular of the Election Commission of India.

Justice S.N.Pathak passed the order hearing a petition of veterinarians organized under the aegis of the Jharkhand Veterinary Doctors Association. The association had challenged the order by which veterinarians have been deputed for election duty.

Advocate Diwakar Upadhyay arguing on behalf of the veterinarians said the circular of the Election Commission of India does not provide the appointment of Veterinary Doctors for election duty.
