New Delhi, Nov 20: Leading Congressman Mahabal Mishra has formally joined the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the impending elections for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Mishra has served as a councillor, a three-term MLA from Dwarka, and a former Congress MP from West Delhi.
At the AAP’s public gathering in Paharganj, Delhi, Mishra joined the party in the presence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia. Vinay Mishra, his son, is a Dwarka-based AAP legislator.

When his son joined the AAP ahead of the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections and was declared a candidate from Dwarka, Mishra’s membership in the Congress was cancelled in 2020.
Today, Kejriwal spoke before a crowd in Paharganj as part of his campaign for the upcoming municipal elections. The BJP has controlled Delhi’s civic institutions since 2007. Notably, elections for the MCD’s 250 wards will take place on December 4, and results will be tallied on December 7.
