Patna: Political activity in Bihar has picked up pace with news that Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary’s government will undergo a cabinet expansion on May 7 at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, with speculation rife over who will make the cut.

Nishant Kumar in the Spotlight

Among all the names being discussed, former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar is generating the most buzz. Sources suggest he is likely to take oath as a minister at the Gandhi Maidan ceremony, though no official confirmation has been made.

Mix of Experience and Fresh Faces Expected

The expansion is expected to include both seasoned politicians and new faces. Several leaders who served in Nitish Kumar’s previous governments may return to the cabinet. A number of senior BJP leaders are also likely to be inducted.

BJP Leaders in the Running

Prominent BJP names being considered include Vijay Kumar Sinha, Mangal Pandey, Dilip Jaiswal, Ramkripal Yadav, Shreyasi Singh, Rama Nishad, and Pramod Chandravanshi. Additionally, Arun Shankar Prasad, Sanjay Singh Tiger, and Surendra Mehta are also said to be in contention. Newer BJP faces such as Sanjeev Chaurasia, Nitish Mishra, and Manoj Sharma may also find a place in the cabinet.

JDU, LJP and Ally Parties Also Get Representation

JDU is expected to back its trusted and experienced leaders, with names like Shrawan Kumar, Ashok Chaudhary, Leshi Singh, Sunil Kumar, Madan Sahni, and Mohammad Zama Khan in discussion. Newer JDU faces including Sheila Mandal, Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, Bulo Mandal, and Vinay Chaudhary may also get a chance. From LJP (Ram Vilas), Sanjay Singh and Sanjay Paswan are being considered, while Santosh Suman is likely to represent Hindustani Awam Morcha. From Rashtriya Lok Morcha, either Upendra Kushwaha’s son Deepak Prakash or his wife Snehlata Kushwaha may be inducted as minister.
