BIT Sindri registers record placements in 2021-22 sessions

Dhanbad, July 18: Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri has registered record placements of over 750 students in the academic sessions of 2021-22.

Career Development Centre (CDC) Chairman Prof Ghanshyam Kumar Singh said that the high placements this year keeps significance as the institution has achieved this despite all odds including the Covid-19 pandemic.

The highest salary offered in this session was 44 lakh per annum in the IT sector. “The silver lining is that despite the pandemic, 65 renowned companies from various sectors rushed to the institution and made 750+ offers,” said Prof Ghanshyam.

Prominent companies such as Amazon, Google, D E Shaw & Co., Deloitte, Wipro, Tata Steel Ltd, Vedanta, JSW Steel Limited, Tata Power Ltd, Aditya Birla Group, Tata Technologies and L&T made maximum offers in the placement drive of 2022.

Prof Ghanshyam said, “This year, 12 students of our institute also got selected in the Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex System (MITACS) research fellowships and several others got internship opportunities in companies such as Microsoft, Tata Steel, ISWPL, TSLP, Samsung, Schlumberger and other.

BIT Sindri, Dhanbad is one of the oldest and premier institutions in India under the department of technology, higher education and skill development, Government of Jharkhand, affiliated to AICTE and accredited to the NBA.

BIT Sindri Director Prof DK Singh said that this record placement is encouraging for the institution but the main motto is to keep a balance between corporate and campus by generating high-quality frontline human resources for the industry and society who would contribute to the nation’s development through excellence in technical education and research.

“We are among the elite technical institutes of India and have achieved stupendous excellence and progress in academics and research since our establishment in 1949. It is one of the most prestigious state government colleges of Jharkhand state,“ said the director.
