Patna: The BPSC controversy in Bihar continues to escalate as protests demanding a re-examination of the 70th BPSC examination entered their 17th day. Leaders from opposition parties have joined the students’ movement, amplifying their voices against alleged irregularities in the examination.
On one hand, independent MP Pappu Yadav led a ‘Rail Roko’ protest at Secretariat Halt in Patna, marching on foot from the Secretariat. On the other, Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor began a hunger strike yesterday at Gandhi Maidan in support of the protesting students. Left-wing student organizations also organized a march to the Chief Minister’s residence, while youth activists in Begusarai blocked NH-31. Youth Congress workers are set to hold a torch march this evening.
“Will Take This Fight to the Supreme Court if Needed”: Pappu Yadav
Speaking at the protest site, Pappu Yadav vowed to continue the struggle, stating, “We will fight until our last breath. If necessary, we will take this fight to the Supreme Court. If movements like the Meena agitation, Jat protests, and the farmers’ movement can go on for months, why can’t we sustain a movement to stop paper leaks?”
He emphasized that the movement is not just about BPSC but about securing the future of students across the country. He accused politicians, coaching mafia, and officials of ruining the lives of 13 crore citizens and announced plans to meet the new Governor regarding the issue.
“Where Was Prashant Kishor for 14 Days?”
Yadav criticized Prashant Kishor, calling him a “gambler” who “eats well before sitting on a dharna in the evening.” He accused Kishor of choosing Gandhi Maidan for his protest, knowing that the administration wouldn’t deny him permission. “Why was Prashant Kishor missing for 14 days?” Yadav questioned.
Begusarai: NH-31 Blocked by Youth Shakti Protest
In response to Pappu Yadav’s call, Youth Shakti protesters led by Pintu Kumar blocked NH-31 in Begusarai. The protest caused long vehicle queues, bringing traffic to a standstill at Power House Chowk.
