Ranchi, May 22: A scuffle took place at Jharkhand’s only state-run super speciality hospital, RIMS between NIA official and doctor-nurse on Sunday. NIA officials had reached RIMS on Saturday evening to get the 25-lakh rewardee naxal Radheshyam treated from Hazaribagh Jail.
According to sources, the altercation occurred when an NIA official requested a blood pressure test, which was delayed by the on-duty nurse. The NIA officer then took out his phone and began recording the footage, which both the nurse and the doctors present objected to.
After getting information about the incident, RIMS Medical Superintendent Dr Hiren Birua reached the prisoner ward and interrogated on-duty nurses and NIA officials present there for half an hour.
Dr Birua said that the NIA officer and the on-duty nurse and doctor got into an argument. “For the time being, the problem has been settled, and the entire circumstances of the occurrence have been provided to the police department’s senior officials,” he added.
