Sahebganj, Oct.26: The two-day Sahebganj visit of the Chief Minister Hemant Soren culminated on Tuesday when he attended the passing out parade of the JAP 9 constables as the chief guest.

While addressing all the 502 pass-out constables including 94 women, who underwent 280 days of rigorous training, the CM said they should implement the learnings in letter and spirit while discharging their duties.

“It is encouraging that the number of women in police forces is rising significantly which symbolises the concept of women empowerment,” he said adding that he was hopeful that they would remain sensitive towards people by balancing their family and service obligations.

Earlier, the CM inspected the spectacular passing out parade accompanied by DGP Neeraj Sinha and handed over certificates to the best 15 constables for their remarkable performance in examinations conducted after their training.

He also handed over an appointment letter to Amrita Jha, the widow of soldier Kundan Jha of Sahebganj who was martyred on June 16 last year during a fierce conflict with the Chinese army in Galwan.

He also announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh each to the dependents of other martyrs belonging to Sahebganj district, including Munna Yadav and Kuldeep Oraon who died last year respectively in Chhattisgarh and Kashmir while fighting with terrorists.

The DGP said that the training of the recruits started in December 2018 which, however, was delayed due to the situation that emerged from the Covid pandemic.

Rajmahal JMM MP Vijay Hasda, BJP MLA Anant Ojha, principal secretary to the chief minister Rajeev Arun Ekka were the prominent guests among other senior administrative and police officials who attended the event.
