New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party held a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET 2026 paper leak and alleged irregularities in CBSE’s On-Screen Marking system, with protesters raising slogans including “Dharmendra Pradhan Istifa Do” and “We asked for Make in India, you gave us Leak in India.”
CJP Founder Flies in From Boston to Lead Protest
The protest was led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, who travelled all the way from Boston in the United States to participate in the demonstration. On his arrival in New Delhi, Dipke was seen carrying a copy of Dr BR Ambedkar’s autobiography, making a symbolic statement about constitutional rights and accountability.
Delhi Police Grants Permission
Delhi Police granted permission for the protest to be held at Jantar Mantar from 10 am to 5 pm, issued as a one-time exemption in line with Supreme Court guidelines and related civil appeals. The party had announced its plans on social media ahead of the event, posting that cockroaches would assemble at Jantar Mantar with the full backing of the Constitution of India.
Context of the Protest
The demonstration comes amid growing public anger over examination irregularities. NEET-UG 2026 has been rescheduled for June 21 following disruptions linked to paper leaks and administrative lapses. CBSE is simultaneously facing scrutiny over serious flaws in its Class XII On-Screen Marking portal and the tender process linked to it. Student groups have also staged protests across Delhi and other cities demanding accountability, with several protesters previously detained outside the Ministry of Education.
