Dhanbad Jan 28: Power crisis in seven districts of Jharkhand has turned into a blame game of major political parties as BJP, JMM and Congress have held each other responsible for the situation.
While BJP has held the coalition government of the state responsible for the current power crisis in Jharkhand, Congress and JMM on the other hand have blamed that the central government has created the crisis.
In counter to the 72-hours dharna of BJP Dhanbad sadar MLA Raj Sinha, JMM district unit today burnt an effigy of Union Power Minister RK Singh at all block headquarters of the district and announced to hold a day long dharna at blocks headquarters on February 8 if DVC does not stop the power cuts.
Congress district president Brajendra Prasad Singh, while terming the dharna of BJP MLA as a political drama, said that Raj Sinha should hold a procession before the union power minister for power crisis in 7 districts of Jharkhand. Congress also warned to launch an agitation if BJP does not stop the political drama.
“DVC comes under the central government which provides power in 7 districts of Jharkhand. Huge payment of DVC had been pending during the regime of Raghubar Das government. Now, the Hemant Soren government is clearing the debt. Rather supporting the state government, the central government is pulling legs by deducting funds of Jharkhand. So, it is the central government who is responsible for the situation and not the Jharkhand government,” said Congress president Singh.
However, BJP Mahanagar president Chandrashekhar Singh holding the Hemant Soren government responsible for the present poor power scenario in the state said that BJP would not sit as a mute spectator.
“Dues in activeness of the state government, power and water crisis has become a serious problem for the people,” said Chandrashekhar Singh. He said agitation of BJP would continue until power and water supply are improved.
Meanwhile, JMM district president Ramesh Tudu has announced to hold dharna at all 10 blocks headquarters of the district on February 8 against DVC.
“If even after February 8, power situation does not improve in Dhanbad, the JMM district unit with permission from the Central Committee of the party would stop the coal and water supply to power plants of DVC,” announced Ramesh Tudu while talking with media persons.
