On Friday, the Rohini South Police Station received a PCR call that a woman has been found dead in her room on the second floor of a building in Mangolpur Kalan village, following which policemen rushed to the scene, said Delhi Police.
Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) U/s 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at South Rohini Police Station. The deceased has been identified as Poonam Devi (36) wife of Pradeep Singh, a resident of Pura Harlal village, Uttar Pradesh.
During the initial inquiry, the police learned that she had come to live on rent with Sanjay, a resident of Karkoli in Uttar Pradesh about 10 days ago.
“The landlord informed that he last saw both Poonam and Sanjay on Friday evening. On Saturday, at about 10:30 am, when the landlord came to the 2nd floor, he found the door of Poonam’s house was open and saw there was no movement in Poonam’s body,” said Delhi police.
Police said there were no external injury marks on the body of the deceased.
A crime team was called in to collect samples and exhibits. The woman’s body was kept in BSA Hospital Mortuary. Her live-in partner Sanjay, who was found missing from the house was contacted but his phone was found switched off.
