J&K: Child killed, five injured in Rajouri IED blast

New Delhi, Jan 2: In a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion that happened in Rajouri’s upper Dangri hamlet on Monday morning, a child was killed and five other people were hurt, according to the police.

“A blast occurred near the house of a victim of yesterday’s firing incident in Rajouri’s Upper Dangri village. One child has succumbed to injuries. Five person injured, one critical. Another suspected IED was spotted which is being cleared,” said ADGP Mukesh Singh.

Officials reported that the explosion happened close to the home where four civilians were shot and killed by terrorists on Sunday.

The same village was the scene of a shooting incident on Sunday evening that left four persons dead and six more wounded. In the upper Dangri village, three houses were fired upon by two terrorists, who were around 50 metres apart from one another.

The family members of those murdered in the shooting incident have been offered an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh and a government job, according to the office of LG Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Manoj Sinha.
