Ranchi, April 6: A sudden fire broke out in the transformer of the powerhouse built for power supply in the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS).

The employees of the powerhouse focused their attention on the transformer as the flames became more intense. The personnel then rushed to put out the fire as quickly as possible.

However, great carelessness was also seen during this period. Efforts were made to extinguish the fire with the help of sand as there was no fire extinguisher in the powerhouse.

At the same time, the fire has been brought under control by calling for fire extinguishers from another place.

On the other hand, RIMS Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Shailesh Tripathi said that due to the heat, the transformer caught fire as soon as the spark came out.

“Information has been given to the Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Department by RIMS Management. After which the repair work of the transformer is going on. At present, no power supply has been reported in any ward,” Dr Tripathi added.
