Hazaribag, Dec 19: In connection with the suicide case of 16-year-old girl Nisha Kumari at Kasturba Gandhi Awasiya Vidyalaya in Barkagaon, warden Lilawati Kumari and science teacher Kiran Kumari have been suspended by the District Education Officer Upendra Narayan.
Nisha’s dead body was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the hostel hall on Sunday morning. It was said that she has committed suicide. Kiran was the acting warden as Lilawati was on leave till Dec 22.

In this case, Chotu Ram, father of Nisha and resident of Badam, lodged a complaint with the police claiming that her footballer daughter was first raped and hanged from the ceiling fan. He said ten other girls were also living with his daughter in that room so it is impossible that no one saw her taking this extreme step.
“I request the police to probe this case and catch the culprit as soon as possible. Nisha was a footballer and she was preparing to go to Ranchi on Monday to participate in Khelo Jharkhand. I want the constitution of a medical board so that truth comes to us,” he demanded.
Meanwhile, the teacher Kiran said that she was in her room on the second floor. Nisha was in room no-20 on the third floor. “I took charge from Lilawati on Dec 17 only. I joined this school only fifteen days ago,” she added.
The deceased’s mother Babli Devi said that the school didn’t inform them about the incident. “We got the information from someone else. Something wrong has happened with my daughter,” she said.
Barkagaon officer-in-charge Neeraj Kumar Singh said the dead body was sent for postmortem to Sheikh Bhikhari medical college. “A medical board was constituted and so we will wait for the postmortem report to know the reason for death,” he added.
This was the third unnatural death in this school. In 2017, a student Gita Kumari also died by suicide here. Three years ago, security guard Mohammad Farukh also committed suicide.
After the recent incident, the villagers demanded the installation of CCTV cameras at the school campus and other places inside the building including the hostel.
