Hazaribag, Jan1: A seven-crore temple has opened the doors of the world to a small village of Daru block in July 2021. Now the village Punai is the most asked for address in the town with people not only visitng from Jharkhand but all over the nation. The temple is witnessing a huge footfall on the first day of 2023 with many appreciating the visit to the temple on every occasion.

Chief trustee of the temple, Anil Deo, the man behind the construction of the village and temple said that a Durga temple worth Rs 2crore is under construction as well. “My plan is to install fountains here besides developing a temple garden for devotees,” Deo added.

Deo, a retired banker said he had started this temple project a few years ago but never thought that it would become what it is now. “I feel hanuman’s presence and his strength behind me which resulted in such a big and grand temple at a remote village,” Deo said.

Villagers of Punai are dependent on agricultural products but now have also been getting jobs through the temple. Several shops have been set up on one corner of the temple selling puja items along with sweets and others. Every day, over 2000 people visit the temple, said Bihari Singh, who owns a shop here.

Sumit Singh, a resident of Hesag in Hatia of Ranchi was one of the devotees who was visiting with his family. “I heard about this temple and saw pictures and videos on social media. So I decided to come here for a visit with my family. I am happy to visit this temple,” he said.

This temple is situated only 25 kms away from the town and can be reached via a smooth black top road via Ichak block.
