Daltonganj, Oct 20: The secretary of technical, higher education government of Jharkhand, Rahul Kumar Purwar, has directed the Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj to look into the complaints about the four students of the MA political science of the session 2020 -22.
The four students Rahul Kumar Dubey, Neha Bhagat, Pooja Kumari and Ashutosh Giri have complained about their undermarking in the dissertations. Lagatar24.com has a copy of their complaint with it.
These students have further alleged that they wrote their dissertations themselves while their grievance is that those students who cut and pasted the stuff from Google managed to obtain higher marks, 80 per cent. These four contested that they were awarded lesser marks in their dissertations that were prepared by them. These four students have asked for justice.
Lagatar24.com correspondent spoke to the secretary of technical, higher education government of Jharkhand Rahul Kumar Purwar who said, “This matter is in my cognisance. I have asked the university to see it in all transparency. The complaint of the MA political science students carries substance. It has to be probed by the NPU.”
NPU Pro vice-chancellor Dr Deep Narayan Yadav said, “We are in receipt of the missive of the secretary of technical, higher education. We have set up a 3-member committee to look into the complaints/grievances of the students regarding the alleged undermarking of the dissertations in comparison to those who copied the Google stuff and submitted their dissertations.”
“The university is quite serious about this issue. There will be a thorough and unbiased probe. I believe the alleged grievances/complaints about the undermarking will be resolved,” he added.
Registrar of the NPU Dr Rakesh Kumar said, “This 3-member committee is under the chairmanship of the pro vice-chancellor Dr Yadav. All the 3 members of this committee are deans including Dr A K Pandey (science), Dr R P Singh (commerce) and Dr Binod Kumar Pathak (social science and humanities). They will look into this issue.”
Sources said the university is set to close down after a day for Diwali, and Chhath festivals the committee is expected to work on the complaints of the MA political science students in November.
