PINAKI  MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Jan 21 :  It’s time to keep ready umbrellas and other rain gear as India Meteorological Department on Friday evening issued a forecast of four days of rain in Jharkhand.

Satellite and other MeT observations revealed another western disturbance as a trough in mid tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level.

An induced cyclonic circulation lies over south Pakistan and  adjoining southwest Rajasthan  extending upto 2.1 km above mean sea level.

“The western disturbance coupled with cyclonic circulation will result in  seasonal rain in Jharkhand for the next few days, ” said Abhishek Anand,  head of Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

MeT data suggests light rain at isolated places over Jharkhand.

Tilaiya in Koderma recorded 1 mm of rain. The highest maximum temperature 26.8°C was recorded at Chaibasa on Friday while the lowest minimum temperature 9.0°C was recorded at Godda.

The sector wise forecast  suggests  light to moderate rain at isolated places in the north and  adjoining central parts of state on January 22.

Light to moderate rain is likely at many places over the state on January 23 while  light to moderate rain is likely at few places in north-east, south-east and central parts of the  state on January 24.

On January 25 light rain is likely at isolated places over north-east and south-east Jharkhand.

MeT data suggested a rising trend in minimum readings due to change in wind pattern and cloud formation in various districts.
