Ranchi, April 22: The Jharkhand Academic Council has relaxed the demand of required qualifications related to Class 7 results for students appearing in the Chief Minister Medha Scholarship Scheme Examination 2022 for the students of 9th to 12th by the order of the Department of Secondary Education, Department of School Education and Literacy. This means that all students of class 7 from all government schools including government, Kasturba, Model, Project and other schools under the education department.
Notably, the basic condition of the exam is that only those students that have scored 55 percent marks in exams of class 7 may be considered eligible for sitting in the exam. However, this year due to a technical snag while filing the ‘Chief Minister Medha Scholarship Scheme’ application, students were facing difficulty in filling the form.
The core problem that arose earlier was that last year, the exam was not conducted due to Covid-19 and all the students were promoted to class 8. Due to this, students don’t have their marksheets and are not in a position to fill forms that require their previous year’s marks.
Now that the criterion has been relaxed, after getting selected, it will be necessary for the students to get 60 percent marks every year. Meanwhile, a total of 5,000 students are to be selected for the scholarship, wherein, 400 students from each district are to be selected.
After selection, a scholarship of Rs 12 thousand will be provided annually to the selected students from classes 9 to 12, who will be required to score a minimum of 60 percent marks in the annual examination every year.
If they are unable to score 60 percent or more than that, they will not be provided with a scholarship in the next year. However, only 50 percent of the scheme amount will be given to the students from residential schools or Akanksha.
