Ranchi, Dec 7: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today appreciated the struggles and hard work of the Didis doing livelihood work in the small groups in rural areas while participating in the Graduation ceremony in the state capital. The programme was organised by Nuz Institute at the Aryabhatta auditorium in Morabadi.
“For the strength of the state, it is necessary for the rural economy to be strong. The rural economy will become strong only when the villagers stand on their own feet. For this purpose, the government is making plans and putting them on the ground,” the chief minister said.
“In the face of adverse circumstances and challenges, the way these Didis have not only become self-reliant by joining various livelihoods but are also taking care of their families in the best possible way, they are a source of energy for other Didis. I hope that all the didis of the state will be even stronger in the days to come,” he said.
The chief minister on the occasion felicitated as many as 400 Didis belonging to poor families who became self-sufficient in their livelihood and shared the efforts to use the resources for the upliftment of the people and development of the state.
“Despite the abundance of all resources including minerals, Jharkhand is counted among the backward states. A large population of tribal, Dalits, minorities and backward classes here is facing poverty. The social fabric of these people is such that they are not getting the benefit of the mineral resources here. Big industries are using the mineral resources here, but the state is not getting its benefit. Our government is working seriously on this issue so that the resources here can be used for the upliftment of the people and development of the state,” CM said.
