Ranchi, Sept.1: Amid suspense over the future of Hemant Soren’s fate as a legislator and chief minister of Jharkhand, Governor Ramesh Bais today declined the JMM’s request for a meeting with him.
Raj Bhavan sources informed this saying the request was declined a few minutes ago on receipt of a request letter.
The development indicates that the Raj Bhavan is in no mood of meet any political party for any discussion taking the Election Commission’s letter to him on his demand for opinion on the issue of office of profit brought to his notice by the BJP following disclosure of the fact that Soren had got a mining lease issued in his name despite being mining department minister.
The JMM has been insisting that the Governor should clear air over the Election Commission opinion and end the political uncertainty in the State for a week.
Earlier also, the Raj Bhawan had refused a similar request of meeting from the JMM-Congress and the BJP.
