Ranchi, Nov.6: Body of a minor boy, Ishwar Yadav, was recovered from a crop field in Godobadar village beside Hunterganj-Pratappur Road under Hunterganj police station area in Chatra district. The place is about 160km from Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi.
Father of the deceased, Indradev Yadav, alleged that the murder is a fall out of love affair of his son with a neighbouring girl belonging to other caste.
An FIR that was registered in this connection suggests that the boy, a high school student, was earlier warned against the affair by the girl’s parents and a local resident, Tuntun Singh, and they allegedly hatched a conspiracy to kill him.
Police have detained the girl’s parents and are questioning them, a local resident said.
Superintendent of the police (SP) of the district, Rakesh Ranjan, confirmed the murder but refused to confirm the love affairs angle.
“Investigation is going on,” SP Singh said when categorically asked to confirm the love affair angle.
