Fatehpur (Uttar Pradesh): In a baffling medical mystery, a 24-year-old man named Vikas Dubey from Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, has reportedly been bitten by a snake for the seventh time in 40 days, consistently on Saturdays. This peculiar situation has left doctors and medical authorities puzzled.
Chief Medical Officer Rajiv Nayan Giri commented on the unusual case, stating that Vikas Dubey has approached the authorities for financial assistance due to the mounting costs of treating his snake bites.
“The victim came to the Collectorate, crying that he had spent a lot of money to cure the snake bites, and now he requested financial help from the authorities. I advised him to visit a government-run hospital where he could get anti-snake venom free of cost,” Mr. Giri told the news agency ANI on Friday.
Highlighting the strangeness of the case, Mr. Giri noted, “It is very strange that a person is bitten by a snake every Saturday. We still need to figure out if it is actually a snake that’s biting him. We also need to see the competence of the doctor who is treating him. A person being bitten by a snake every Saturday and being admitted to the same hospital each time, and recovering in just one day seems strange.”
In response to the unusual pattern of the incidents, the Chief Medical Officer has formed a three-doctor team to investigate the matter further. “This is why we thought of forming a team to investigate the case, after which I will tell the people the truth of the matter,” he added.
Officials reported that each time Vikas Dubey was bitten, he was taken to the hospital and recovered after receiving treatment. This consistent recovery pattern has added to the mystery surrounding his condition.
As the investigation continues, the medical community and local residents await answers to this perplexing situation, hoping to uncover the truth behind Vikas Dubey’s repeated snake bites.
